Why Does RB 2132 Make a Squeaking Noise?
https://iloveraybans.blogspot.com/2011/06/why-does-rb-2132-make-squeaking-noise.html
Does your Rayban sunglasses model RB 2132's make squeaking noises and the lens feel like it's loose in the frame? Some of you may have this problem, even though it's actually not a problem at all.
The reason the lens is sometimes a little loose and makes a squeaking noise is because when the item is being made, the lenses are made of Glass, which can easily crack, so the inlay for the frame is made slightly larger, so they heat up the plastic frame to make it easier to put in the lenses, and once they do and the frame cools down and sets, there might be a small space between the lens and the frame, causing it to squeak a little, this is not a defect in anyway, Rayban does this on purpose so that the lenses don't have too much pressure, if it does, the lenses have a high chance of cracking.
So if you end up with one that squeaks, it's normal, no frame is exactly the same of course, so some may actually squeak more than others, some may not even do that at all.

Thanks for the guide, I was worried that there was a defect on my frames, but it makes sense and I'm glad it's not a defect.
ReplyDeleteYour welcome, I know lots of people may think it is a defect, but it's normal.
ReplyDeleteIs there a solution to this?
ReplyDeleteprobably not
DeleteGlad to hear about this. Had checked for all tell tale signs of it being fake but it had none. Mine does creak and squeak a fair bit. My classic 2140s never had this issue. :/
ReplyDeleteSend them back and either ask for a refund or get replacements - this is so annoying - not buying glasses to be annoyed
ReplyDeleteI second this. Mine squeaked so I ordered from a different place, those turned out squeak-less.
DeleteOh Boy..That's comforting..I have bought expensive RB 3025 in Amazon, Verified all those Ray-Ban authentic Logos, Markings etc, Everything is fine except that cracking noise which scared me that it may be a fake one.
ReplyDeletenot acceptable. those are expensive and i expect quality.
ReplyDeletei just bought a 2140 rayban the 54mm size and the right lens only is loose and makes sound when i shake the rayban..... is that normal????
ReplyDeleteThis well help http://iloveraybans.blogspot.com/2016/01/why-do-my-ray-bans-make-squeaking-nose.html
DeleteI agree, I ordered them off Amazon as well RB8313's - they were "squeaky" and even though they looked legit in every other way there's no way I'm keeping $200 sunglasses that make annoying noises!
